How it works. Type the batch number printed on the strip, bottle or carton (usually after "B. No." or "Batch"). We match it against every CDSCO and state NSQ alert. You can also type a brand, molecule or company name to find its record page.
How to read a medicine strip
Batch / Lot number
Alphanumeric, e.g. "PEP5001" or "DML062". Printed near the manufacturing and expiry dates. Spaces and hyphens do not matter here.
Manufacturer
The company named after "Mfd. by" or "Manufactured by" , often different from the marketer named on the front.
What a match means
A listed batch failed a specific government lab test. It does not mean every batch of that brand is bad. Return a matched batch to the pharmacy and consult your doctor about a replacement.
"Not found" is not "safe". CDSCO tests a sample of the market each month; absence from the alerts is not proof of quality. If a medicine looks tampered with or does not work as expected, report it to your state drug controller or through CDSCO's consumer section.
