Editorial policy

What we publish

We publish actions by regulators and laboratories that are recorded in a public order, notification, alert, court record, peer-reviewed study or a named tester's published report. We do not publish allegations, anonymous tips or social media claims as entries. Where a claim is going viral, we publish a fact-check that says what the official record actually shows.

Wording

Statuses use the regulator's own words. A show-cause notice is a notice, not a ban. A batch that failed a test is a batch, not a brand. A company whose name appears on a suspected fake is named as the labelled manufacturer, and its reply is shown. We do not use words like "dangerous" or "toxic" unless the order does.

Who writes this

Two researchers write and check every page. Neither of us is a doctor, pharmacist or food scientist, so we do not give medical or nutrition advice. We report what regulators, courts and published lab studies have recorded, quote their wording, and link to the document. Where a page suggests what to do, it points you to your doctor or pharmacist. Every page is checked against its sources before it goes live and again when the status changes. Data pages (monthly alerts, manufacturer and product records) are generated from the source and checked by the editorial team for parsing errors.

Corrections and right of reply

Any company, brand or person named on the site can send a response or evidence through the corrections page. Factual errors are corrected and logged in public. Responses from named companies and people are published unedited next to the record. We acknowledge every submission within 24 hours.

Independence

We take no payment, advertising or sponsorship from any company listed on the site. We do not sell certificates, "verified" badges or removal. Advertising is programmatic and is never placed inside a status box or a data table. Affiliate links, where present, are labelled.

Personal data

We name companies, brands and products. We do not publish personal contact details. Individuals are named only where a public regulatory or court record names them in an official role.
