About Blacklisted

Blacklisted (blacklisted.co.in) is an independent website. It keeps a public record of products that Indian regulators have banned, recalled, restricted or found to be of poor quality. It covers medicines: Section 26A bans, CDSCO's monthly Not of Standard Quality alerts, suspected spurious batches and WHO alerts. It also covers food, drinks and supplements: FSSAI orders and notices, FoSCoS and BIS recalls, and findings from independent laboratories.

What we do

Regulators publish their orders and alerts as PDFs and on portals. We collect them, turn them into a searchable list, and give every drug, batch, manufacturer, brand and order its own page. Each page says in plain words what the action means. Every entry links to the original document. If a status has changed, for example a court stay, a ban lifted or a brand cleared, the page says so.

What we are not

We are not a regulator, a laboratory or a medical service. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Do not stop or change a prescribed medicine without asking your doctor or pharmacist. We do not test products ourselves. The lab results shown here come from government laboratories, or from the independent testers and studies we name. A listing here means there is a documented action by a regulator or a laboratory. It is not our opinion of a company.

Funding and independence

The site is funded by display advertising and, in future, by paid data subscriptions. We take no sponsorship, advertising or payment from any manufacturer, brand or company listed on the site, and we do not sell "verified" or "clean" badges. Affiliate links, where used, sit in clearly labelled boxes and never appear inside a status box or a data table.

Who is responsible

Blacklisted is published by GoQuest. Two researchers, both from a marketing and consumer research background, write and check every page. We are not doctors, pharmacists or food scientists. That is why the site sticks to what the official record says and links to it, and does not give medical advice. More about us.
