Trustified, an independent testing outfit that publishes video results, reported in early February 2026 that a pouch of Mother Dairy cow milk showed a total plate count of 2,40,000 CFU/ml, about eight times the 30,000 CFU/ml FSSAI limit for pasteurised milk. The same round flagged coliforms in Amul pouches and a high plate count in Country Delight. A high plate count in one retail sample is a reason for a regulator to draw official samples, not proof of a factory problem, because bacteria in pasteurised milk multiply quickly once a pouch is left warm.
