Where the claim comes from
Amul searches with 'banned' or 'fake' come from periodic viral videos about adulterated milk and butter, usually involving counterfeit packaging rather than Amul's own products, and from Trustified's EXPIRED tag on Amul Whey Protein being misread as a failed test.
Amul, the brand of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation, has no regulatory action on record in the period this site covers. Checks of publicly reported FoSCoS recalls for 2024 to 2026, the BIS product-recall alert page and FSSAI's 2026 press notices found no Amul entry. Brand-level FoSCoS rows are to be re-checked from an Indian IP before launch, but nothing in the news record suggests one exists.
The single listing found anywhere is on the independent tester Trustified's protein-powder page, which shows Amul Whey Protein with the tag EXPIRED as of 7 Dec 2023. Trustified uses that tag when a brand's voluntary certification lapses without renewal; it is distinct from the FAIL tag applied to products that did not pass testing. Amul Whey Protein is not on the FAIL list.
