Where the claim comes from
The rumour is the 2015 withdrawal itself, which remains the most-remembered food-safety event in India. Old headlines and screenshots recirculate whenever Maggi is in the news, and the June 2026 FSSAI notice over an insect complaint produced a fresh wave of 'Maggi banned again' posts.
Maggi's ban lasted about five months in 2015 and has not existed since. FSSAI ordered the noodles withdrawn in June 2015 after state laboratories reported lead above the permitted limit and undeclared monosodium glutamate. The Bombay High Court set the order aside in August 2015 and required fresh testing at accredited laboratories; the samples passed and Maggi returned to shelves in November 2015.
The question resurfaced in June 2026 when a social-media post alleged insect infestation in a pack. FSSAI issued Nestlé India a notice; Nestlé published laboratory results on 13 Jun 2026 reporting no safety violation, and no regulatory finding followed. That episode is a notice, not a ban, and it did not affect sale.
Nothing on the FoSCoS recall portal or in FSSAI's 2024 to 2026 press notices concerns Maggi. The product is not banned, not recalled and not under any restriction in India.
