Parle Products (Parle-G, Monaco, Hide & Seek): FSSAI record

Parle Products, maker of Parle-G, Monaco, Krackjack, Hide & Seek and Melody, has no regulatory action on record for 2024 to 2026. Checks of FSSAI's June to August 2026 claims notices, of publicly reported recalls and of press coverage found no Parle entry. Brand-level FoSCoS rows are to be re-checked from an Indian IP before launch, but nothing in the record suggests one exists.

The one recall found anywhere was abroad. On 28 Feb 2025 Ambika Corporation, a Japanese importer of Indian groceries, published a recall of nine Parle biscuit lines, including several Hide & Seek variants, Cream Bourbon and Gluco biscuits. The reason was TBHQ, an antioxidant used to stop fats going rancid. TBHQ is permitted within limits in India and Europe but is not on Japan's list of designated additives, so the packs could not be sold there. It was a compliance recall by the importer, not a safety alert, and it did not involve any Indian authority.

Viral posts about Parle-G tend to be about nutrition. In May 2025 Fact Crescendo examined claims that the biscuit was unhealthy and rated them 'missing context': the sugar level is in line with other glucose biscuits and there is no additive or contaminant finding behind the posts. A stranger episode in October 2021 saw a rumour in Bihar that children must eat Parle-G during the Jitiya festival, which caused panic buying in Sitamarhi and four nearby districts.

Parle Products is not banned, not recalled and not under notice in India as of 20 Sep 2026.
