Context
One of eight notices issued on 14 Jun 2026 to brands using 'healthy', 'zero maida', 'plant based' and similar terms

Emami Agrotech's edible-oil range is sold under the brand name Healthy & Tasty, and that name is the whole of the issue. On 14 Jun 2026 FSSAI issued notices to eight companies whose brand names or taglines used words such as 'healthy', 'zero maida' or 'plant based' without the substantiation the Advertising and Claims Regulations, 2018 require. Emami's notice said the trade name was likely to mislead consumers about the nature of the product.

The notice is the first step in a claims process, not a safety action. FSSAI did not allege adulteration, order a recall or restrict sale. Several brands notified in the same wave, including Heritage Foods and MasterChow, amended their packaging within two months, and FSSAI announced on 16 Aug 2026 that six companies had rectified claims or trademarks.

Whether Emami has responded, amended the name or contested the notice is not recorded in the sources held here. No other regulatory action against Emami's food business is on record for 2024 to 2026.

What this means for you

The oil stays on sale

A notice asks the company to respond. It does not stop sale or require a recall.

The name may change

Other brands in the same wave dropped or amended their claims within weeks.
