Is Chymoral Forte banned in India?

Chymoral Forte is Torrent's trypsin-chymotrypsin tablet, an enzyme product prescribed after surgery and injury to reduce swelling. It is not banned.

Trypsin-chymotrypsin has never been named in a Section 26A notification. What happened on 11 April 2025 was that the CDSCO directed state licensing authorities to halt 35 fixed-dose combinations licensed without central approval, and several of them paired trypsin-chymotrypsin with diclofenac and paracetamol, serratiopeptidase, methylsulfonylmethane or boswellia. Those are multi-drug products from other manufacturers, not Chymoral Forte, which contains the enzyme alone.

The brand's own news is about counterfeits. The CDSCO's alert for October 2025 listed batches 2KU6L057 and 2KU6L030 of Chymoral Forte among five batches of well-known brands considered potentially spurious; Torrent said the matter was under investigation. The alert for December 2025, published on 21 January 2026, declared two more Chymoral Forte batches spurious, alongside Telma-AM, Telma 40, Montina-L and Pantop-D. "Spurious" means the sample was not what its label claimed, a fake carrying the brand's name, and manufacturers' standard response is that they did not make the batch.

For patients, the licence is unchanged. The practical steps are to buy from a licensed pharmacy with a bill, compare the batch number on the strip with the four listed, and, as a separate clinical question, ask a doctor whether an oral enzyme is adding anything to recovery.
