In its August 2026 alert, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation listed 220 drug batches that failed quality tests, 29 at central laboratories and 191 at state drug-testing laboratories, from 180 manufacturers across 155 products. The most common failure was assay, and the most-represented manufacturing state was Himachal Pradesh. Products flagged include Paracetamol Tablets IP 500 mg, Telmisartan Tablets IP 40 mg, Absorbent Cotton Wool IP.
