Hell Energy, the Hungarian-origin brand, appears in Indian search results mainly because Rajasthan named it in its 11 Jul 2026 prohibition on eight energy-drink brands. That order applies within Rajasthan only, covers sale, storage and promotion, and was accompanied by reported seizures of over five lakh units. The eight-brand list has not yet been verified against the state notification.
Nationally the brand is regulated, not banned. FSSAI's 3 Jul 2026 order requires all products in the category to drop 'energy drink' from their names, carry the descriptor 'Caffeinated beverage', declare caffeine within the 145 to 300 mg per litre limit and print warning statements. The 90-day window ends on 29 Sep 2026 and FSSAI has declined to extend it.
No recall, laboratory failure or licence suspension involving Hell Energy has been reported by FSSAI or any state authority.
What this means for you
Labels are changing, not availability
The national order is about names, caffeine declarations and warnings. It does not withdraw the drink from shops outside Rajasthan.
Rajasthan is the exception
Rajasthan issued a state-level prohibition on 11 Jul 2026. If you are in Rajasthan, expect the product to be off shelves while that order stands.
Check the caffeine line
From the compliance date, the can should say 'Caffeinated beverage' and state caffeine per litre. Older-label stock may still be in circulation.
