Where the claim comes from
The claim spread in July 2026 when FSSAI's 3 Jul order removing the words 'energy drink' from labels was reported as a 'ban', and Rajasthan's 11 Jul prohibition on eight brands was reported without the word 'Rajasthan'. Punjab's 2025 school-zone directive and Maharashtra's July 2026 restriction on Sting added to the confusion.
Monster is not banned in India. It is one of the brands covered by FSSAI's 3 Jul 2026 order, which requires all caffeinated beverages to be sold as 'Caffeinated beverage' rather than 'energy drink', with caffeine within 145 to 300 mg per litre and warning statements, by 29 Sep 2026. Labels change; availability does not.
The only prohibition is Rajasthan's. The state's 11 Jul 2026 order named eight brands, Monster among them, and barred their sale, storage and promotion within Rajasthan. The published list is flagged for verification. Nothing in that order applies outside the state.
Monster has no recall, laboratory failure or licence action on record with FSSAI or any state authority. The autocomplete phrase 'energy drink banned in india monster' reflects the July 2026 headlines, not a national order.
