Is Cyclopam banned in India?

Cyclopam is Indoco's brand of dicyclomine with paracetamol, an antispasmodic-painkiller for abdominal cramps sold as tablets and as a suspension often used for infant colic. We have not found it in any ban notification, and our content plan flags the point for confirmation because so many dicyclomine combinations have been prohibited around it.

The prohibited products are longer combinations. The 328-FDC notification of 7 September 2018 banned dicyclomine + paracetamol + domperidone and omeprazole + dicyclomine. The 156-FDC list of 2 August 2024 banned tramadol + dicyclomine + domperidone under S.O. 3439(E). And the 16-FDC notification of 11 June 2026 banned dicyclomine + paracetamol + clidinium + chlordiazepoxide (S.O. 3071(E)) and dicyclomine + paracetamol + clidinium (S.O. 3078(E)), both irritable-bowel products that add a second antispasmodic and, in one case, a benzodiazepine. The June 2026 entries begin with the same two words as Cyclopam's composition, which is how the brand acquired the question.

The two-drug dicyclomine + paracetamol combination has not been named in any of these orders or in the April 2025 list of 35 unapproved combinations. Until the Gazette texts are checked against the exact wording, this page describes it as not banned and keeps the verification flag.

Anyone holding an antispasmodic pack can apply a simple test: two actives, dicyclomine and paracetamol, is Cyclopam; three or four, including clidinium or chlordiazepoxide, is a prohibited product to return to the pharmacist.
