OZiva Protein & Herbs, a plant protein for women blended with ayurvedic herbs, was reported by the Citizens Protein Project 1 to contain residues of two agricultural fungicides, azoxystrobin and dimethomorph, pointing to the pea, rice or herbal raw materials. Whether the levels exceeded India's maximum residue limits is to be confirmed from the paper. The study's authors, several of them liver specialists, also placed the product in a caution group for herbal ingredients with a case-report history of hepatotoxicity, an interpretive note applied to a category, not a laboratory failure. No FSSAI action on the product is on record and no OZiva response has been located.
