Nestle Resource High Protein was product 18 of 36 in the first Citizens Protein Project, a self-funded study published in Medicine in April 2024. The study bought the products in 2023, coded and blinded them, and had an FSSAI-approved laboratory in Kochi run total protein (Kjeldahl), aflatoxin, pesticide residue, heavy metals and steroid screens. The label figure comes from the study's master chart (Supplementary Document 1) and Figure S1; the measured figures are from Table 1 of the paper. A medical nutrition powder that measured 48.45 g protein per 100 g against 45.00 g on the label, about 8% above the claim. Lead was detected at 0.071 mg/kg; copper was below the limit of quantification and no aflatoxin, pesticide, arsenic or cadmium was found. The same product was tested again in the 2025 round, where it measured 44.67 g per 100 g with taurine detected.
The study reports differences as percentage points of protein per 100 g. It tested one batch of each product and did not compare metal readings with FSSAI limits. No FSSAI action on this product is on record.

The measured protein was 3.5 points (8%) above the label. The study treated a product as mislabelled when it fell short of the claim; this one did not.
Trace metals were reported without a limit check
The laboratory reported lead 0.071 mg/kg and copper Below limit of quantification. The paper did not compare these with FSSAI limits for foods, so a detection here is a data point, not a finding of violation.
