Frotein Whey, marketed by BigMuscles Nutrition as a whey protein concentrate, was reported by the Citizens Protein Project 1 to contain 26.1% protein by weight against a label claim of 76.5%, a shortfall of two-thirds. The study, a self-funded effort by clinicians and citizens published in Medicine in April 2024, tested a single retail sample of each product at an accredited laboratory. BigMuscles rejected the result, stating publicly that the report was forged; the exact statement and its source are to be confirmed before being quoted. FSSAI has taken no action on the product. The brand also appears on Trustified's FAIL list and in Unbox Health's lowest whey grade for other products.
