The Bureau of Indian Standards published a public alert for a recall of skimmed milk powder sold under the Raaj and En Nutrica brand, manufactured by Dindigul Farm Product Private Limited, Natham, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, under BIS licence CM/ L 6100037482 for IS 13334 (Part 1):2014. The order is dated 9 Jun 2022. The order names the non-conforming parameter as Spore count (clause 5.6 of the standard). The alert covers lot 220A59, manufacturing date 01-01-2022.
BIS issues such alerts when a sample drawn under its certification scheme fails one or more requirements of the Indian Standard, and it directs the licensee to withdraw the affected lot and inform the public.

What a BIS recall is
BIS certifies products against Indian Standards under the ISI mark. When a factory or market sample fails the standard, BIS directs the licensee to recall the affected lot and publishes a public alert.
Spore counts in milk powder
IS 13334 sets microbiological limits including spore-forming bacteria such as Bacillus cereus and sulfite-reducing Clostridia. Powder that fails them can spoil or cause food poisoning once reconstituted, especially if kept warm.

It is not an FSSAI action
BIS recalls run under the BIS Act, 2016, separately from FSSAI's FoSCoS recall system. A BIS alert does not by itself mean an FSSAI licence action.
