The Bureau of Indian Standards published a public alert for a recall of packaged drinking water sold under the Pura brand, manufactured by Rio Beverages Company, Kandlapalle, Ranga Reddy, Telangana, under BIS licence 6300011377 for IS 14543:2016. The order is dated 12 Dec 2022. The order PDF is a scanned image and the non-conforming parameter could not be read from it. The alert covers lot S1222, 1 L PET bottles, manufacturing date 12-09-2022.
BIS issues such alerts when a sample drawn under its certification scheme fails one or more requirements of the Indian Standard, and it directs the licensee to withdraw the affected lot and inform the public.
