The Bureau of Indian Standards published a public alert for a recall of skimmed milk powder sold under the Vijay brand, manufactured by Vijay Dairy And Farm Products (P) Ltd, Musiri, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, under BIS licence CM/L 4492774 for IS 13334 (Part 1):2014. The order is dated 9 Jun 2022. The order PDF is a scanned image and the non-conforming parameter could not be read from it. The alert covers manufacturing date 01-01-2022.

Spore counts in milk powder
IS 13334 sets microbiological limits including spore-forming bacteria such as Bacillus cereus and sulfite-reducing Clostridia. Powder that fails them can spoil or cause food poisoning once reconstituted, especially if kept warm.
