The Bureau of Indian Standards published a recall alert for packaged drinking water sold under the Everyday, Zale and Varuna brand, manufactured by SV Foods & Beverages under BIS licence for IS 14543:2024. The order is dated 2 Apr 2026. BIS issues such alerts when a sample drawn under its certification scheme, from the factory or the market, fails one or more requirements of the Indian Standard, and it directs the licensee to withdraw the affected lots and inform the public.

BIS certifies products against Indian Standards under the ISI mark. When a market or factory sample fails the standard, BIS orders the licensee to recall the affected lots and publishes an alert.

It is not an FSSAI action
BIS recalls run under the BIS Act, 2016, separately from FSSAI's FoSCoS recall system. A BIS alert does not by itself mean an FSSAI licence action.
