Where the claim comes from

Searches pair Dabur Chyawanprash with 'banned' after the Dabur and Patanjali chyawanprash advertising dispute reached the Delhi High Court in 2025. The dispute was over advertising, and Dabur was the plaintiff.

Dabur Chyawanprash is not banned in India. In the sources we checked there is no ban, recall, failed-test finding or licence action naming it. Maharashtra FDA's table of products that failed state lab tests, as of 9 Oct 2026, lists other makers and other products.

The claim usually traces to a court dispute. On 6 Nov 2025 the Delhi High Court (Justice Tejas Karia), in Dabur India v Patanjali Ayurved, restrained Patanjali from calling all other chyawanprash 'dhoka' (2025 SCC OnLine Del 8347). The court held at the interim stage that disparaging a whole class of products is not mere puffery. Dabur was the plaintiff.

That order concerns a rival's advertising. It is not a finding about the quality or safety of Dabur Chyawanprash.
