Where the claim comes from

Searches ask whether Liv.52 is 'banned' or 'harmful'. We found no regulator document behind either claim.

Liv.52 is not banned in India. We checked three official sources: Maharashtra FDA's table of products that failed state lab tests (as of 9 Oct 2026), the CDSCO Ayush division page, and the US FDA import alerts that list Indian firms (updated 9 Oct 2026). None names Liv.52 or its maker, Himalaya Wellness.

A ban, a failed batch or a licence action would normally appear in one of those places or in a state order. We found none. That is not a certificate of quality: it means no regulator action is on record in the sources we read.

What this means for you

Absence is not endorsement

Nothing on record means no regulator action in the sources we checked. We do not assess whether any medicine suits a person, and a doctor should advise on liver conditions.

How a real problem would show up

A failed test would appear as a named batch in a state NSQ table, and a licence action as a state order. Neither names Liv.52 today.

This is a record of official orders, not medical advice. Do not stop a prescribed medicine without asking your doctor or pharmacist.
