In its April 2020 alert, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation listed 59 drug batches that failed quality tests, 25 at central laboratories and 34 at state drug-testing laboratories, from 44 manufacturers across 47 products. The most common failure was assay, and the most-represented manufacturing state was Himachal Pradesh. Products flagged include Paracetamol, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride and Chlorpheniramine Maleate Syrup (COLDBEST-PC SYRUP), Viro-Rub Hand Sanitizer Alocohol Hand Rub, Paracetamol, Phenylephrine HCL and Chlorpheniramine Maleate Drops (COLDBEST-PC DROPS).
