FSSAI's public recall register, FoSCoS, lists three recalls by Ramdev Food Products Pvt Ltd started on 29 Sep 2026. The most significant is batch 02 of Ramdev Mixed Masala, made on 5 May 2026, which was classed unsafe because it contained the fungicide ferbam, measured as CS2, at 0.08 mg/kg against a maximum of 0.01 mg/kg. The recall covers 485 kg.
The other two entries are batches 07/G and 08-B/G of compounded asafoetida (hing), made in April and May 2026 and totalling about 1,229 kg. They are classed sub-standard, and the company entered them as self recalls without giving the failed parameter.
All three were entered by the company and show as initiated on FoSCoS as of 8 Oct 2026. They concern the batches named, not Ramdev products generally. No regulator order or company statement beyond the FoSCoS entries has been found.
What this means for you
Three batches, not the brand
The recalls name batch numbers. Ramdev products from other batches are not covered.
Find the batch number on the pack
Look for "Batch No." near the manufacturing date. If it matches, stop using the pack and return it to the shop.
Unsafe and sub-standard are different
"Unsafe" means the product could harm health; here a fungicide residue was above the limit. "Sub-standard" means it did not meet the quality standard, which for asafoetida usually concerns its composition.
This is a record of official orders, not medical advice. Do not stop a prescribed medicine without asking your doctor or pharmacist.
Common questions
Is Ramdev masala banned?
No. Three batches were recalled in September 2026: one of Mixed Masala for a pesticide residue above the limit and two of compounded asafoetida as sub-standard.
