Where the claim comes from

The question follows FSSAI's 24 Jul 2026 notice, reported on 3 Aug 2026, which called NMN an unapproved ingredient and ordered delisting.

NMN, or nicotinamide mononucleotide, is not an approved ingredient for supplement use in India. FSSAI said so in a notice of 24 Jul 2026, reported by NutraIngredients on 3 Aug 2026. The notice told e-commerce platforms to delist NMN products, and it named one: Decode Age NMN.

The reported notice also says something about the approval process. Six applications for approval of NMN had been rejected, and two were still pending. We have not seen the text of the notice itself, only this report, so the details here follow the report.

This is a regulator's notice and a delisting order, not a criminal prosecution. The position is that NMN is not permitted in a supplement until FSSAI approves it. FSSAI's supplement regulations of 2022 allow only the ingredients in their permitted schedules.

What this means for you

Delisting was ordered

The notice told e-commerce platforms to delist NMN products. FSSAI has called the ingredient unapproved for supplement use.

Approval is still possible

Two applications for approval were reported as pending. Approval, if given, would change the status, and this page would then be updated.

This is a record of official orders, not medical advice. Do not stop a prescribed medicine without asking your doctor or pharmacist.
