On 1 Oct 2026 Maharashtra's Food and Drug Administration cancelled the drug sale and distribution licences of a carrying-and-forwarding warehouse at Wadki, Pune, run by Cipla Pharma and Life Sciences. The order cites the misbranding of Reactin Plus tablets, a Schedule H medicine whose pack described it as an analgesic and antipyretic, incomplete compliance with a recall, and deficiencies in storage and stock records.

It is the second cancellation. The FDA's first order, of 27 Aug 2026, was withdrawn after the Bombay High Court described it as high-handed. The authority then issued a revised show-cause notice on 4 Sep, received Cipla's reply on 11 Sep and held a hearing on 21 Sep before passing the fresh order. Cipla called the decision disappointing and said it was evaluating its options.

The action concerns one warehouse's licences. It is not a ban on any Cipla medicine.

What this means for you

One warehouse, not the medicines

The order concerns the licence of one distribution warehouse. It does not ban Reactin Plus or any other Cipla product.

This is a record of official orders, not medical advice. Do not stop a prescribed medicine without asking your doctor or pharmacist.

Common questions

Is Reactin Plus banned?

No. The FDA held its pack claims to be misbranding and cancelled the licences of the warehouse that held it. The product itself has not been banned.
