Is Faiza Beauty Cream banned in India?
Last checked 10 October 2026
Faiza Beauty Cream (45 g) and Faiza Moisture Balancing Whitening Face Wash, made by Poonia Brothers in Pakistan, failed the test for mercury at Kerala's drug-testing laboratory and are listed in CDSCO's March 2025 alert; the products have no import registration and imports from Pakistan have been barred since May 2025, so they cannot lawfully be sold, though no CDSCO alert names Faiza by itself.

Where the claim comes from
Kerala's Operation Soundarya findings in 2025 and 2026, and earlier bans in Kenya, which Indian searches pick up.
Faiza Beauty Cream is a Pakistani skin-whitening cream made by Poonia Brothers. It was sampled in Kerala during Operation Soundarya, and CDSCO's March 2025 'not of standard quality' alert lists both the 45 g cream and the Faiza Moisture Balancing Whitening Face Wash as failing the test for the content of mercury in finished cosmetics. In August 2026 the Kerala government said its tests had found mercury in Faiza and Goree creams at up to 20,000 parts per million; the legal limit is 1.
Faiza has never been registered for import under the Cosmetics Rules 2020, and since 2 May 2025 nothing may be imported from Pakistan at all. That makes every pack sold in India unlawful, with or without the lab result. CDSCO's September 2026 public health alert did not name Faiza; it named Goree and Chandni. The record for Faiza therefore rests on the March 2025 lab finding and the import bar, which between them have the same practical effect.
What this means for you
Treat it like Goree
Same country of origin, same unregistered status, same lab finding. Stop using it and keep the pack if you want to report the seller.
Report what you find
CDSCO asks the public to report Indian-made cosmetics to the State Drugs Controller and imported ones to the Drugs Controller General of India at cosmetics@cdsco.nic.in. Keep the pack and the bill.
No national alert names Faiza yet
CDSCO's 8 Sep 2026 alert covers Goree and Chandni. Faiza's finding is on CDSCO's March 2025 list and in Kerala's statements; the legal effect is the same.
This is a record of official orders, not medical advice. Do not stop a prescribed medicine without asking your doctor or pharmacist.
